Pending how people decide to setup their system (either by switch or tapping of of some existing light circuit) I'm thinking about including a single 5mm LED (same color at the vent) to help calibrate the sensitivity of the module. It has a variable resistor that controls sensitivity based on how loud your engine is. For instance, my car has borla stingers and headers so i have it in minimum sensitivity.

I did this a few years ago but I can not find my write-up or the pictures. I will check later and see what I come up with.

My 2000 coupe is torch red and I used red neons. I think it looks pretty good.

I used two neon light kits that I got from one of the local auto part stores. I think they were 10 inch lights.

They had sticky tape attached to them so I simply stuck them onto the inside of the fender. I put the ballasts in the battery area on the back side. I think I used double-faced tape to secure them to the firewall. My battery den has a cover so there are no unsightly wires strewn everywhere. For the far side light, I ran the wire along the hood release cable and zip tied it in place.

I tied the two power and the two grounds together from the ballasts. I took the wires into the cabin through the same location where all the other wires pass through below / behind the battery. I grounded them inside the cabin - just can't remember where right now.

I took the power wire over to the drivers side and tied into a switch. The other side of the switch is tapped into the power for the fog lights. The fog lights must be on for the neons to be powered. The extra in-line switch is to turn them off should I want to. I mounted the switch on the lower panel near where the footwell light is.

I think the power wire for the fog lights may be purple and brown?

I will try to find some pictures tonight.

Final testing for the "sound controlled kit" is finished. For the test, mom was kind enough to let me use her 98 vert (stock exhaust) for testing. Here is the result:

If you have aftermarket exhaust, you can simply dial-down the sensitivity of the unit.

If you're interested in my making you one, send me a PM.

I will shoot video of mine (blue) tomorrow.

Here is a gif I put together of mine.
I took a picture with them off, then on and combined the two as a gif file.
Steady night shot is below the gif.
