Very simple, buy her, her own Vette. Then she can drive at a speed she is comfortable with and you can drive at your speed. It worked for me. My wife hates the speed I drive at.
Ok... here it is!
from a female point of view--let her drive. If she doesn't want to then ignore what she has to say. Atleast you gave her a chance to drive.
My husband tells me I will be the first one to get a ticket! In a corvette it is hard to stay the speed limit all the time!!

I just offered to teach her to drive a manual tranny.

Good idea, but kinda pricey. Still cheaper than replacing it though!

I do like that idea of having your wife drive the vette. Any possibility???

To be honest with you, I love my wife dearly. I liked the idea of her driving it. I just need to find the time and place to teach her how to drive a manual transmission.
Finally a use for those stock quiet mufflers !!!!
1. Place autonag device in the approprate seat.
2. Install stock mufflers in noisy location.
3. Enjoy the sound of silence !!!

Say your prayers for me and my clutch!
I taught my 16 year old nephew how to drive a manual in my FRC. I've got a racing clutch (on/off, lots of effort) and a Hurst short-throw shifter (lots of effort, stupid-short throws).
He killed it probably 75 times in the 90 minutes I forced him to putt around in town. I just about busted a gut when I told him to take a road that had a stop sign atop the hill. The ever so slight incline just about made him get out and walk he was so frustrated. Later that day I had him drive half of the way to my place (~2 hrs, back roads and interstate), and aside from forgetting to use the clutch in a parking lot coming to a stop at a rest area, he did fine. I figure he can drive any manual short of a big-rig now that he figured out mine...
I think you'll be fine, as it is far more likely an adult will listen to suggestions on how to drive it. FWIW, I don't think you should laugh when she stalls it over and over.
My first time driving a manual car was not pretty. It was much unlike the tractors.

Thanks for the tips. I have a C5 Z06 clutch installed May of 2006 and a C6 Z06 shifter and ****. I think it's pretty user friendly.
