$49/mo. Geico, $500 ded, I'm 36. I found the largest cost factor being the zip code. My cost to insure was reduced by nearly 45% when I moved.

$55 a month, $250 deductible collision, $500K/$1000K liability with safe driver and multi product discount. Insurance on my '98 coupe is less than on our '06 Quest. I asked agent why since the values are roughly the same and it is all about loss experience and driver record. 'Vette owners care for cars and maintain them so safety equipment is in better condition, and our toys are more theft resistant even if more desirable. The cost of the car also tends to mean the owner drives more responsibly to protect their investment. These factors are balanced against driving record. Get a lot of moving violation citations and have a couple of at-fault collisions and it won't matter if you drive a pedal car, your insurance is going to cost more.

£325 a year (about $620) a year. Not bad for a US car in England. Only allowed 5k miles ayear though.

How do you guys get these rates?

I was quoted $101 a month from Geico, full coverage (comprehensive, collision, uninsured/under insured, Bodily Injury at 100,000/300,000, PIP at 5,000 -no dedcut and rental reimbursement) and $122 a month from State Farm where I have my 2 other vehicles, my home and life insurance. Both of these are with a $500 dedcut. I am 43 with a clean record for the last 5 years. Are all of these previous quotes for full coverage?

What gives?

WHERE you live is as important as how you drive, age, etc. Your credit rating can also pay a role, believe it or not.

If car theft is a big issue in your area, you pay more. If you've filed bankruptcy, you pay more. There are a lot of variables.

I use the same company for auto and home insurance and get a great rate of about $50 per month. I'm 39 married, kids, etc.

Monthly rate works out to be $26. Car is classified as an 'exotic' w/mileage limitation of 7,500 a year (no problem there, just 7,600 miles in 3 yrs now). Of course being older than dirt helps as well.
