I only did the front to save my rockers. The backs have clear PVC tape from the HVAC section of a hardware store (Frost King I think).
I have the "SUV" mud guards from Pep Boy's. They cost a whopping $10.
I used the cardboard they came in to cut a template of the guard, then determined where the original fastener holse should be drilled.
The final result is guards that do a great job and use existing body fasteners - no new drilled holes.
I bought the set from Ecklers too, they fit and work AWESOME! I live on a gravel road and have not gotten one chip since the install. The only minus, the sit low and don't flex (front) so I crunched my LF on a speedbump!
Did I ever mention I HATE F$#KING SPEEDBUMPS!
Does this include pieces for the front wheels as well and are they worth the money?
Yes it includes pieces for the front wheels, door sills and side view mirrors. Yes it is worth the money.
I have the full kit on my car. It is the best and cheapest protection against stone chips from the tires IMO. There are some stubborn air bubbles but you can barely see them outdoors unless you get right up to them and are looking for them. Air bubbles would probably be invisible on lighter color cars. You can also see where the film ends especially if you overlap.
Here is a post of mine with pictures of my car showing the film installed:
You can't tell the air bubbles from the reflection of the ground anyway. In the garage I can see them but outside the film is barely visable and does not draw your eye to it. I forget I even have it on.
I prefer cleartastic to splash guards, for appearance and because most splash guards can easily come off from an impact with a speed bump no matter how slow you go over them. The splash guards that require drilling holes in the cars body and then are attached with screws will probably rip off of the body and damage the body and paint or will just break. Plus spalsh guards are in constant contact with the paint and will probably eventually cause wear of the paint from vibrating during driving. Kind of defeating their purpose.
