Not trying to be a smart @##, but have you tried any products to clean it up? I use RaggTop made by Haartz, good stuff , but if really faded probably won't help much. Good luck

I would be willing to bet that your top is NOT faded but contaminated or stained with car soap etc. My suggestion to you is to buy and use as directed a two stage cleaner/protectorate called Ragg Top. It will cost you roughly$35 and some time. After this brings the top back to like new looks, go out of your way to use nothing (no soap, no drive through car washes, etc) You will be happy with the results. I can almost guarantee it.
Go to www.autogeek.com a Forum Vendor and don't gorget to use the corvetteforum discount.
The raggtop is definitely worth a try.
Don't get any of it on your paint. I draped out a couple of old sheets, and masked off the rest and the back window.
LET IT DRY before you put on the protectant part!
I gave it 24 hours.

I haven't heard of a black top fading yet but I suppose anything is possible My guess is that it's got something on it that can't be brought out.
You can do a search and you'll find there's been a couple of people who have asked about re-dying their top but I don't think they ever actually did it due to running into issues like areas darker than others, dye running onto paint, apholstery, etc.
If you do try it, please come back and let us know how it came out
