I just had the original battery replaced last week. Got a spiral gold motormaster eliminater (Canadian Tire) . I had done a nice cruise last weekend then put it away for the coming week and now I went out and the battery isn't turning the engine over(click click click). I am just wondering where to check for a draw on the battery. What is the best way to tackle this annoying problem? Where to start???
The guage tells me that the charging is fine.....

That's the Canadian Tire one . ... I bought that one as well a few weeks ago. Worked good for a week then I had the same problem. I took the car in to have it checked. The dealer found that the screw holes of the battery were not deep enough therefore the battery cable was not tightened as tight as it should be. I took it battery back and replaced it with a GM Delco.. it fits like a glove. Let me know what happened after you get the problem resolved ,,
Not saying you don't have another problem, but Crappy Tire batteries are amongst the worst out there. Get a good "name brand".

I thought it was a case by case basis..... I hear a lot about optimas and all brands here..... The eliminator is a new no leak battery with a 3 year replacement and a 10 year pro rated. It cost as much as a red top I was quoted.... I took a chance on the new kid.
I purchased a Excide Orbital battery not too long ago. It works just fine. However after I bought it I learned from a member here that remybattery.com has a pretty good price on them, even ship it right to your door. I would never consider a red top because of all the complaints on this forum. David
When I took my car to a corvette mechanic for a possiblebattery draw the first two places he checked (from his years of expierience) was to check the lights on the makeup mirrors on the visors. He also asked me if the inside of the car had gotten wet recently. If the windows are open when washing, or rain water will run into the power seat controls and short and drain the battery.

Which GM Delco battery did you get? I think I gotta follow your lead...
Don't believe all you read about Optimas. It's a good battery for a DD and it has a 3 yr guarantee. Bit of a snag not having power in your garage. A battery tender really is a great solution for irregular use.
