Headlight gear help
Once again my headlight gear went bad, this time the left one. Believe it or not Autozone found me the gear for the motor, and it was actually manufactured by ford. I called them today, and they said that they did not carry the part. Does anyone know where I can get the plastic gear in southwest florida, or possibly have a part # for it?!?

If you disassemble the gearbox, you will see that only half of the gear is messed up. That is because you only use half of the gear. Note position of the gear and change it 180 degrees. Don't change the headlight position.

Hey thanks for the info, I've heard that can work sometimes! It wouldn't be so bad if the damn gear didn't make a grinding noise for 10 seconds after u shut the lights off!!!!

If you're going to dismantle the motor fit a brass gear at the same time. Otherwise you'll be doing the mod again in 2 years time.
