Is it Taboo to have two brands of tires on your vette? My fronts are good, but I don't want pay to replace four tires when the rears only need to be replaced. The fronts are Toyo Proxes TS-1, but I think I want to switch it up.
Can anybody make a suggestion on a good overall tire. Looking to spend $500-600 out the door. I like Eage F1s, but I think they're out of my budget. What do ya'll think about BF g-force kdw's?
Not taboo I guess but I sure wouldn't mix run flats and non run flats. The sidewalls are way stiffer on the run flats and the handling would be really bad.
When I fitted the Michelins the handling was transformed. I would replace with a full new set.
I spoke with a Toyo rep about this (I have T1-S too). Based on my conversation, I would have been comfortable using T1-Rs for the other two wheels for anything short of tracking the car.
It is frowned upon but it hasn't stopped me. The combos i have run were not at all dengerous. I do track my car and T1-S/ GYSC combo worked fine. GY EAGLE F1 GS/ GYSC combo resulted in horrible understeer at the track, but works fine on the street. I had to replace the rear GYSC's so I went with Khumho ECSTA MX's. Agian, no problem on the street, but I'm not going back to the track untill I get a set of MX's on the front. Check out the Khumho's, they are similar to the kdw's but are a better all around tire for a little less money, as I recall.
