Default Window Valet

Well, I got one. I like the little mod (if you call it that). I just sat there showing it off to the wife, who really didn't seem to get the big event the way I did when I sat there rolling the windows up and down.

"Is that all it does?" she asks.

"Mope, I can also check the speeds that it has been driven to if I leave it with someone." I reply with a smile.

"Oh dear God." She replies rolling her eyes.

She just doesn't understand.

I like it.

Thanks for letting me share and why do I feel like a kid on Christmas day?

Micah

Well, looks like I'm not the only one who finally decided to get one. Pretty cool little gadget. My father seemed overtly impressed. He was so impressed, in fact, that he asked me if there was one available for HIS ride... a 2005 Nissan Titan...

Window Valet is a very cool mod and I like the high speed report feature also. The problem with it is that if you take it to a dealer for work and they have to plug into the computer port they will have to remove the Valet to do so. At that point it could "dissapear". So I would recommend removing it before a visit to the dealer.

As long as you mentioned that you have to remove the Valet at the dealership - if you live in a state like I do that checks emissions via OBDII, you have to remove it for that too. No biggie, though!

Best $135 I ever spent....almost a neccessity if you have a convertible.

Good point, I forgot about that. In Missouri you have to have that done for license renewal.

In fact the last time I had my 02 checked I forgot to remove it and I had to remove it for them because the "geniuses" at the emissions station couldn't figure out where to plug in their computer cable because there was a "dodad" blocking the port.

Micah...But how much "HP" does it add??? j/k Just left Jim's shop in OKC. I'm in Norman for training. Jim had me come by his shop today. He put it on the dyno and did some fuel management tweaking. Dang he's a great tuner. I definitely see why you traveled 1200 miles for a tune. Glad you like the window valet. I've had mine for 5 years, extremely handy for the Vert...Later, Dave

WV is a great little mod

Why is it that "She Who Must Be Obeyed" doesn't see the significance of these earth shattering events?

I have the same problem. The elation followed by the crushing dismissal

Can't think what she'll say when I finally order my VE seats.

I find it an especially nice capability on the Vette as the windows are frameless and at a rather large angle in, so having the windows down really helps getting in and out of the car w/o opening the car door to its max. Plus, the Vette FOB has such an awesome range, I can open the windows and let the car cool off a bit in my driveway as I'm gettin' ready to head out.

I agree on the getting in and out of car in tight spaces.

From a female perspective I think it's AWESOME. I've had the Top Down Technologies plug in too since I think 2002 and I love it!!! I still love to play with it. Windows come down, radio turns on. Just wish there was a way to select CDs and adjust the volume too.

However, like someone said above, it you take your car to the dealer they will remove it. Had the Z06 in once and they said the plug was causing the column lock...weird because the column lock service was performed on the car years ago. Just unplug it before you have any service.

Enjoy!!!
