Unless you really are not paying attention or do not understand the way that angles work while driving up/down inclines and other slopes, the only thing that you drag on the vette is the chin spoiler/air deflector ... it is a replaceable part for about $50 give or take. Why sacrafice the looks and improved handling that a 1" drop will give you for the sake of a rubber deflector?
Ah well to each their own ... I drug mine every day out of my driveway stock .. and still drag it when it was lowered 1" on factory bolts. I added the frame savers and rocker rail protectors from A&A as one of my first mods .. worth the expense and peace of mind ... there are definite wear marks on the wheels after about 1.5 years of having them on now that would be wear on the front frame under the nose

Mine is lowered 2.5 inches on phadt coilovers and the handling is sooo much better that a stock c5 Z06 cant really even compare (but then again thats coilovers and adjustable swaybars)
However, my experience is that the car will never scrape as long as you learn how to drive it. Of course if you go barrelling into driveways without any regard for the beautiful front end of your car, you will tear it to pieces. Tender loving care goes a long way. Take bumps at sharp angles, one wheel going over at a time, etc.. Im sorry but if you are scraping your STOCK 4x4 height z06, you are not using tender loving care.
I lowered by 04 exactly the same. Amazing how reducing the ride height by just 3/4 of an inch brings you in contact with so many more things than when you were at stock height.

Charoog that looks sick! Someday I will be able to swing some coilovers heh
Angle is your friend while driving any c5/c6 vette of any height when approaching driveways, speed bumps etc. And protect your front frame with the wheel mod of your choice (A&A or one of the others).
I got 1" taller wheels front and back then lowered all the way on stock bolts. Only lost a half inch of clearance on the front air dam. I don't scrape any more now than I did before the change.
As for optimum engineering. It handles better now than when it was stock but the BFG rubber and KONI FSD shocks probably have a significant influence on that perception.

SO SLAM IT!
or get coilovers
I love this look. Do you have a profile pic like this?
I am trying to see how big the difference is between yours and mine. Lowered 1 inch on stock bolts.
It's your car. Enjoy it the way you want it, and keep on truckin'.
that's what i love about this forum. every time i log on and peruse, i find out some interesting stuff (i.e., the factory recommended 20mm lowering and the factory height for porters to handle the new cars w/o f-ing anything up).
pretty much all my vehicles have been lowered (natural born "low-life" lol) so i'm fully comfortable with driving "on the ground".
i think they're great looking cars no matter the height, i just think they have that "look" when they're dropped a little.
