He beat the C5 in the 1/8th, who cares. The C5 would of beat him in the 1/4, you can see that the C5 passed him after the 1/8th. I dont know why people brag about beating a stock C5 at the drag stip anyways, the car was built for autocross and road courses not the drag strip.

Sorry guys, but the IS350 does put out similar performance numbers to a stock LS1 Vette/Fbody. IS350s have run mid 13s stock, which is in LS1 territory.
From Lexus....
Base MSRP: $35,705
At the heart of the IS 350 is a potent 3.5-liter V6 that churns out an incredible 306 horsepower [1], making it one of the most powerful engines in its class [2]. And with 277 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm [1], the IS 350 can go from 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds [1] [3].

Considering it is a 3.5 V6 vs. a 5.7 V8, are you surprised? Guys, get over it. The C5 isn't the end all, be all of the automotive world. The IS350 is an impressive car for what it is. It's as simple as that.

Fast, for a V6. Fast, for a 3.5. Fast, for a sedan. Why do you have to make excuses for it? I can do the same thing. The C5 is faster, and up to 10 years older. Faster, and is a chevy, not a lexus. Faster, with only two valves per cylinder. Faster, with only one cam. Faster, with a lower redline. Faster, and worth $10,000 less. Faster, and looks better. Faster, and handles better. Faster, and has a higher top speed.

You've got some nerve comparing a Japanese car to the almighty Corvette. We all know that the Corvette is God's gift to the automotive world. May the fleas of a 1000 camels infest your dog.
PS I don't know about you, but any day around cars, regardless of their make, is a great day for me.
I got a ride in a buddy's turbo'ed Honda S2000 with 4.57 gears the other day and he almost broke my neck accelerating. Pretty sure he could take my vette on a straight or curved track with same rwhp and 400 lbs. less curb weight. He's about to get another 100+ rwhp with a motor upgrade.
There are some seriously fast imports out there. Makes it very interesting, don't it?

Are you kidding? You're comparing mod'd vehicle to a stock vette. That's a stupid comparison. ANYTHING mod'd can whip anything *NOT* mod'd.
He should have spanked the Lexus but hey driver error can lose you a race to stock Civic. But on the other hand their are a lot of sedans that will give a stock C5 a run for the money these days and a lot more on the way.
Make some mods and have fun with them 350 hp is just not enough these days for some straight line performance.
He probably thought he was on the street and didn't want to get busted for street racing.
I am not saying that the C5 can beat any car on the block, but that was definitely an issue of the driver loosing the race, vice the car.
if anything the Lexus beat the driver not the car.
One of my buddy's at school drives one (i'm not sure on the model because it isnt the one in the vid) and they are quick cars, but you can tell in the 1/8 that the vette had almost made up for his bad launch so in the 1/4 he would have made up for it easy.
