Are you kidding? You're comparing mod'd vehicle to a stock vette. That's a stupid comparison. ANYTHING mod'd can whip anything *NOT* mod'd.
Re-read my post *carefully*. Same rwhp as mine but 400 lbs. less. Mine is definitely not stock with h/c, headers, Vararam, exhaust, 4.10's - mods ad naseum. A 30 sec ride in this screamer will make you a believer.
Anyway, who cares? If you wanna' go faster, get your wallet out - that's what he did.
i have first hand experience....they are fast, but hands down...stock for stock the vette inches away...
PS....
This was on a closed course...we went from a dig, and some rolls...we do have the advantage from a dig ...so for sure the dude in the video cagged up the launch...
One of my buddy's at school drives one (i'm not sure on the model because it isnt the one in the vid) and they are quick cars, but you can tell in the 1/8 that the vette had almost made up for his bad launch so in the 1/4 he would have made up for it easy.
The Lexus driver says he beat the same vette in the 1/4 earlier but this day the timing lights at the 1/4 weren't working so they only timed it at an 1/8 but they did keep racing to the 1/4 and he says he had the vette by half a car lenth.
Blah Blah there are so many factors involved in this it is not even funny. Do we know the maintenance history of the Vette? Or any current problems? NO. Do we know the drivers skill livel? NO do we know if it is an auto or a manual? NO.
The IS350 is a neat little car, yes it is fast and unless you can launch your vette well it will eat you out of the whole because lexus has very good traction control system. So even a granny can launch it well.
I watched that vid, and not much is clear except for the fact the lexus certainly had a good launch...
If you guys think that corvettes are hard to modify, hahahahaha that has got to be some of the funniest stuff I have ever heard. With the import you start with almost 1/2 the power from the get-go and it takes a lot of time to catch up. $ for $ the vetter is cheaper to modify than any other car that is N/A. When it comes to turbos and supercharges it is another story.
