Have GMPP -take car in for AC work. Dealership: "problem diagnosed and fixed". Two months later, no a AC. Still under warranty, so I take it in. Dealership: "problem diagnosed and fixed". Warranty expires in Dec. Take car out of storage in April, no AC. Now with no warranty, I need a new condensor and AC lines.. Estimated installed cost $1,000. Going elsewhere for a second opinion.

That's too bad. Sure hope you get some satisfaction. Our Chevy dealer (Moritz Chevrolet) has been prompt, fair and they've performed quality work for me over the past two years. I've heard good things about a few other dealerships around DFW too.

What were the two dates you had it worked on? How long after the last time it was "fixed" before you stored it? What was the diagnosis and fix, each time? Dependent upon your answers, I think I would go back to the dealer and raise heck for them to repair it at n/c since they apparently didn't do the first two times and probably charged GMPP twice.
I think I'd be speaking to GMPP. The dealer started this job last year, has made 2 attempts to fix it alreday and hasn't fixed it to your satisfaction yet. The jobs not signed off until the AC is fixed.
GMPP told the dealer No. I'm going to call myself. If that fails, I'll see if the dealer is willing to do some of the work on a goodwill basis. Last trip for AC repair was in Nov; car stored beginning of Jan. I'll post up the replies from GMPP and dealership.

I don't believe GMPP will be much help at this point. You might want to call GM customer Care hot-line. They have been known to help get the dealer to do what needs to be done.

From all you've said, the dealer had two shots to fix it, apparently billed GMPP twice and got paid and it is still not fixed? One can almost understand GMPP saying "no more". I would beat on the dealer and get GM Zone and Detroit customer service involved if necessary. You approach the dealer on a "goodwill" basis and more than likely they will tell you to suck eggs. Did they give you a copy of the diagnosis and repair summary the last 2 times?

UPDATE: Called Customer Cares, no help. Wrote to Rick Wagoner, GM's CEO. Executive office called back today and gave me the typical no help either line, saying the dealership saw the car in Nov, then didn't see me again for five months, so the condenser could have gone bad in between. Car was in storage for three of those months and I didn't use the ac in Nov & Dec.
I lost the battle here, but the big "loser" is GM. RANT OVER!
Did you happen to notice that GM is now #2 in world wide sales behind Toyota. This is one of the reason's why. We, as customers, see GM through their Dealers. The dealers suck, GM sucks.
Now you know why we keep hearing over and over again:
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GO TO THE DEALERSHIP!
Of course, I understand with the GMPP you usually go to the dealership because you have coverage, and think they will fix the problem. WRONG! It seems more often than not that after you leave the dealership, your car is in worse shape than when you took it in. At least that's what I keep reading over and over again here on the forum.
I will search up and down the state of California for a qualified mechanic before I would ever let anyone at a GM dealership touch my car!!!!!!!!!!!

Of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. They'll send you a complaint form. Fill out the details, return it to them, and hope for the best. It only costs you some time and a stamp.
Sounds like the stealership put it up your pooper !

A former, 13 year Chevy mechanic friend of mine said the same thing.
His dad had to replace the fuel pump on his 2002 Avalanche at 85k miles. Cost = $700.00 !
My friend replaced the fuel pump on his wife's 2003 S-10 Blazer at 74k miles.
Cost with him doing the labor = $500.00 !
I just replaced the fuel pump on MY 2000 ZR2 Blazer at 116,000 miles.
Cost = $878.00 !
That is why the consumer is buying TOYOTAS ! Sad but it's a fact.
