I am having fun loading up my son (seven) into the C5 and heading to car stuff like Carlisle and some local racetracks (Summit Point & VIR), but I have been daydreaming about taking him to famous tracks. What would be on your list of famous racetracks, or current tracks that will be famous in the next few decades? I came up with the following list; obviously from the list I have more knowledge about F1 or road course events, but I am not opposed to drag racing etc. Thanks!
I thought about putting this in OT, but came to the conclusion that car racing is Corvette related!

A lot more I don't remember. Don't get me started on MX tracks and 1/2 mile and mile ovals.
My life on the edge now is running with scissors and going for a par 5 in 2.
Wow you guys had track time in all of thost spots, I'm impressed. If anyone finds themselves at Summit Point my garage is yours to use, I am about 2 miles away as the crow flies.

There is a big NASA race the end of June at Summit point called Hyperfest.
Wont make it up there for that event, but possible for Aug and Sept, if the car is fully converted by then. Otherwise next year

Summit was the only track I ran where I could sleep in my own bed on Saturday night. That was a real luxury.
Where have you guys BEEN for the last fifty or so years?
The most beautiful road course in the USA is up in Wisconsin....ROAD AMERICA!
The brats and corn on the cob ALONE are worth the entire trip.
Come on down!
ZOOOM
Orange County international raceway, Irvine California.
How about some more,
Lions Drag strip, Los Angeles California.
Alton Dragway, Alton Illinois.
I wish they all were still there!!!
WOW, brings back some memories. Grew up at Ascot and Lions. Raced OCIR several times in karts.
Riverside, remember in a kart the back straight was boring but the esses were a blast. Was just out there. It's now a mall. To bad.
