Default Warning Messages

I took my '02 C-5 for a short trip(ride) today.I get about 20 miles from home cruising at 60mph when my ABS and active handling lights come on with messages in the DIC to service the ABS system and active handling system. I reset both messages and I keep driving . The lights stayed on. I got to my destination and checked for codes. There were none.About an hour later I start the car and the lights are off . I go another 20 miles and shut the car off. Everything is AOK, I leave to come home and abput 60 miles into my return the lights come back on. When I get home no codes. Should I be concerned? I think so but I need opinions on what is going on and get this checked out?
The car has 15900 miles.

The warning will not clear until you turn off the car and restart. If its resetting at least you don't have a permanent failure yet.

I'm surprised there are no codes, not even a history code.

Is the warning coming on at a particular time? In my case when my EBCM started to go bad it was usually when I was stationary at the lights. It turned out to be a voltage thing and only occurred when the engine was idling.

There are 3 parts to the system The EBCM, the BPMV and the wheel sensors. Any could be causing the trips.

Theres a thread posted by Bill Curlee which is a no cost option before you spend money. His thread shows how to check out the grounds which can cause problems with the system. If there are no codes it would be a good place to start.

Mine started doing the same thing in Bowling Green while at the Bash. It had rained really bad, so I attributed it to the moisture in the air. It cleared up after I shut it off and re-started. When I ran it at the drag strip, I figured it would light up again. But, nothing else happened. This past week, I was taking a leisurely drive to the burger joint when it came on again??? As soon as I shut it down, it healed itself! I'll be interested to hear what you find out.

I've been having a similar problem. I run a few errands and the service ABS and Handling warning comes. I park in the garage for awhile and run another errand and the warning is gone. I have an 02 with 10,000 miles. What's the deal??? Should I be worried?
