All the parts are about $230 from gmpartshouse.com.
How difficult was the installation and what about the shocks inevitably raising your car one inch or more?

Go with the VARARAm or get an LS6 manifold.

Two of the best mods I've done so far!

if you get the VARARAM go to www.thelapd.com they are $305.00 brand new or call 1-877-THE-LAPD and ask for Shawn and he'll set you up.

For a while they had them for that price shipped!

Tell 'em madmatt sent you

Thanks,Matt

Used LS6 intake and a ZO6 Air Box Lid, Vararam is a Waste of Money.

A few of the bolts were a little awkward but with the right tools it's not hard at all. Here's a how-to:

http://fuzzydiceracing.com/test.htm

My car is about a half inch higher in the back and the same height as before in the front. I've only got about 200 miles on the car since the install so maybe the rear will settle down a bit.

Not to hijack the thread, but to answer, sure its an option w/Z51. Personally, I like the handling and cornering aspect of the C5 and its potential. Metal endlinks and Z sways will do wonders for these cars, as well as good shocks. You should do a search, the Z51 was upgraded at some point also during the production run and was never as stout as the Z suspension. If you like to corner, the Z sway set-up is very hard to beat when combined with a great 4wheel alignment and can done near the $300 range in question, give or take a few bucks

(Puts flame suit on) I would look for a USED hypertech/programmer. They have them in the for sale section.

Getting a better Cold Air Intake is always a good recommendation,......I'd say Intake and Exhaust are probably the two things that more people do before anything else. But just remember something,.......spending $300 for a CAI and then expecting to feel a significant power gain isn't really gonna happen. Maybe in combination with some other mods you might start to feel a difference in power, but just adding a CAI alone won't give you a noticable difference in power.

Unfortunately when it comes to C5's, $300 isn't really going to do a whole lot in the HP department. I think I'd probably do the sway bars for now and then wait till I could afford to do the rest of the exhaust. (ie. Long Tube Headers, X-Pipe, Highflow Cats)

It's just an opinion!

To go from 2000 Z51 (FE3) suspension sway bars to Z06 (FE4) suspension sway bars you only need the front sway bar and bushings. Add the metal links too. The rear sway bar was the same in 2000 for the FE3 and FE4 suspension.

23mm, front; 19.1mm, rear --- Base
25.4mm, front; 21.7mm, rear --- Z51 97-99 (FE3)
28.6mm, front; 23.6mm, rear --- Z51 00-04 (FE3)
30.0mm, front; 23.6mm, rear --- Z06 (FE4)

As far as upgrade goes, my vote is for upgrading suspension first. That is what I did. I put in the new front sway bar and bushing, metal end links, and C6 Z06 shocks on my 2000 FRC. Huge step up in enjoyment for me!

After a Z06 rear spring, I finally installed a Vararam. I am very pleased with the Vararam but, for me, how the vette handled was more important.

What is more important for you?
