Recalibrate the windows. You may have to set the window up strength to "strong".

Mine does that every so often. Not sure what causes it, may be just an electrical quirk. In 3+ years it has happened 5 or 6 times that I know of. Sorry I don't have an exact cause, but you are not alone.

I agree - temp changes can cause things to change to the point where you need to recalibrate the windows. If it goes up, then right back down again, its because it assumed that something was blocking the window - this is a safety function. A recalibrate lets it learn where the top of the window is again, and resets how much force it should consider normal.

Just wondering... but how does the window actually go down and up, what buttons on the key fob do you hit?

how would you roll up or down the window without locking or unlocking your car if you use the keyfob to control the window valet. There are only so many buttons on the c5 keyfob

Unlock 3 times and the windows drop. Vehicle's open.
Lock 3 times, the windows go up and the vehicle is secure.

My Window Vallet has never worked for the up position and I suspect it
never will. I will not recalibrate the DIC for this. Given the nature of flex
in the rag top system this could open up a real can of worms.

Mine does this when I haven't driven the car for a while, and the battery is a bit run down. The solution is to just drive the car more.

You live and learn. I've had that problem for a while. I had no idea that affected it.

Thanks

I can't stand mine. Pain in the butt everytime you want to crack the window - constant pushing, almost like double clicking on a mouse.

If you don't like it, it is probably the easiest of any mod to remove.

It's not recalibration of the DIC -- it's recalibration of the WV module. Mine does it about once or twice a month and I've just never bothered to recalibrate it. Anyone got a link to the instructions?

Like Phanni said -- easy to remove, and I'm sure you'd have NO PROBLEM selling it on the forum. I love mine!

This should help. You will need your PIN. Been a while since I've messed around with mine. Haven't had any trouble w/it.

I love these things and wouldn't be without it on my vert. Not having to get in the car and use the ignition switch to raise or lower the top made it worth the price.

It was a little bit of work to calibrate the first time. I moved it from my 99 to the 02 without recalibrating and it works fine. It is not meant to partially open or close a window, that would take a lot of button pushes!
