Default Headlight cover touch up

I have a paint nick on my passenger side headlight cover, I think that's what you call it. It's the painted cover on top of the headlight when the headlight is not in use. Anyway, can this cover come off to send to a body shop to touch up the nick instead of bringing the whole car? It looks like there's just a couple of screws holding it in place but I would hate to remove something that's not suppossed to be removed or screw something up.

Its a two minute job to take it off

There are 6 torx screws; two on the back and two on each side.

Lift the hood and unscrew the back ones first. Raise the lights and back off the switch to the parking light position to kill the headlights. Take out the screws on both sides. The cover then lifts off.

I am not sure what year you have but I have a 1999 and on my 99 there are only four torx holding the cover on. two in the rear and one on each side.

I agree with DeeGee about removing the rear ones first and then getting the lights up for the others but on my 1999 I have to remove the headlight surrounds in order to get to the torx screws that hold the cover on.

These are held on by three phillips head screws, two on the inside and one on the outside.

Hope this helps!

if it is a stone ship you can touch it up with a aftermarkeet duplicolor touch up paint vial and then use some Langka to remove the blob..
It will be almost invisible... available at most auto parts chains...

You're absolutely correct

I'm still learning. I've only done it 50 times
