I had an EBCM relaced last year which seemed to fix a number of nuisance Service AH captions. The old EBCM was producing faulty voltages.
This morning the AH started tripping out again. I checked the DIC codes and I have a C1287H (wheel sensor) code.
The caption only comes on when I'm slowing down for the lights, normally with the wheels straight. Its just a pain having to "reboot" the car to clear it.
I assume its probably a dirty sensor or maybe its giving up the ghost? I doubt that my grounds are dirty as the car rarely goes out in the wet.
Is that code for the TPS or for the wheel speed sensors? I thought it was for the speed sensors, I've seen people clean up the connectors to the speed sensors and get rid of similar gremlins. They're easy to get at for cleaning.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe the sensors picked up some junk over the years. Do you have any pics of the sensors or a link?

Has anyone had this problem? Any quick fixes?
DG, I'm having the same problem (C1287, and C1288) at the same slowing down situation. It is happening every time I drive the car now...

Ditto here - C1287 comes on everytime - I can 'clear' out the code only to have it pop up randomly every 5-10 miles or so usually in a coasting / slowdown situation.
I've also had issues with my turn signals malfunctioning so I'm betting there's wiring issues in my steering column. I plan on doing something about it this weekend.

I gave up on fixing these nuisance errors a long time ago. I tried cleaning the contacts and squeezing them and cleaning grounds, etc. etc. Mine happen fairly frequently so now I just reboot while driving - just turn the key to start postion momentarily and back to on while you drive and it will go through it's reboot/diag and clear the error temporarily (still stays in memory for the DIC so you'll have to physically clear that yourself). Don't worry, your starter will not engage; fortunately your computer knows the engine is already running and will not activate the starter.

Wheel Speed Sensors
Back to the wheel speed sensors. Code C1221 - 1228 indicate that one of the wheel speed sensors is either sending a bad signal or no signal. Start by checking the connections. The wheel speed sensors are integrated into the wheel bearing/hub assembly. The wire coming out of the back is the connection for the wheel speed sensors. Verify that the connector are not broken, damaged, or corroded in any way. Pay particular attention to the female end.
The wire coming out of the wheel speed sensor connects to and 18" jumper harness, then to the main harness. It is very common for people to have a weak female pin in one of those connections. If all of that checks out good, Swap the jumper harness from side to side. For example if the left front is bad, swap it over to the right front. and install the good one from the right front to the left side. Then clear the trouble code. If the trouble code is now on the right side, you know the wire harness is the problem. If the code is still on the left side after swapping the jumper harnesses, you know the problem is inside the wheel speed sensors.
If all the wires check out good, it's time to take a trip to Auto Zone for a new set of bearings. You can buy replacement AC Delco bearing from your dealer if you want to, or get the exact same bearing in a different box for half the price (~$150) from Auto Zone, you decide. The bearings should be replaced in axel sets, so if your left front is bad, you have to replace the right front too. While your at it, this is a good time to upgrade the lug studs and add spindle ducts.
