Low Oil
The Low Oil Level warning flashed on my DIC tonight...and I only have 11% oil life left (going in for an oil change next week)
Does the low oil message mean the oil level is low, or is it flashing because it is at 11% oil life left?

The low oil level sensor is located in the oil pan...
It's job is to tell you the oil level is low. It does not tell you the remaining oil life.
Manually check your engine oil level.

How low have you guys found it needs to be in order to trigger the low oil level display on the DIC? On my last oil change I purposely only put in 5 quarts, in order to see if the warning came on. I drove it like that for two days and the warning never came on, despite being 1.5 quarts low! (don't worry, I didn't drive it hard during this time so no damage would've been done)

It means the oil is low - when the oil life gets down to around 5% it will say change oil soon. Might want to check the oil level soon or just go ahead and change it.

Thanks, guys...thats what I figured, but just wanted to be certain. I was a little late about 11:40 when I got home last night and the message flashed, and was in no mood to look at it.
I was late heading to work this morning and forgot about it until about 30 minutes ago, but the message has not flashed all day, and I have left the office about 4 times now.
I was parked on a rather steep incline when I started the car last night. Maybe that had something to do with it...but in any case, I guess I am going to get dirty later.

I have had mine come on when parked on an incline several times and I check my oil all the time as when in boost mine pushed some in the catch can and I just top off my baby and you should check to make sure all is ok
