Sorry for you problems, but just an FYI, the magnetic plug retails for $3.05 at your Chevy dealer. Just because it's on eBay doesn't make it a deal.
Hope everything gets resolved satisfactorily.
Not even worth the drive to the dealer. Sitting behind a computer and ordering items to your house... Driving across town for a $5 item?
To the OP: I wouldn't worry about the lack of communication on the item, hell for $3 bucks? Chock it up as lost in the mail... A power seller (or even someone like me, who doesn't sell that much at all) just doesn't have the time to **** around with every little thing. Once I've sold and shipped, I'd like to forget!
after repeated nasty emails from me, the power seller decides to write me one back today. He said its only a matter of $3 buck, and he can't believe that I'm getting all upset about it ... He also said if I report him or leave a nasty feedback, he'll do the same to me... .... And he'll send the little item if I still didn't get mine in a day or two... ....
The other guys who I bought the $25 microfiber towels, still has not replied... ....
He also said if I report him or leave a nasty feedback, he'll do the same to me... .... And he'll send the little item if I still didn't get mine in a day or two... ....
That's the problem with a venue like eBay... If you leave a legitimate negative feedback for a seller he can turn around and do the same to you even though you don't deserve it. Happened to me.. seller claimed that his motorcycle mirrors would not be blurry at speeds up to 100mph. Wrong - they sucked. I hit him with a negative after a few of his nasty replies to my inquiries about his advertising and he turned right around and hammered me. I got one thing accomplished though -all of his subsequent ads on eBay for mirrors did not mention vibration.
Years ago ebay was good, now it is a scammer heaven, and the deals you used to get are not really around anymore.
Buy.com and Craigslist.com are by far the best.
Ebay does nothing to help you as does paypay. The guy you bought the towels from has 1 Feedback, I say kiss that money goodbye.
The oil plug guy might be OK, but he screwed you and if you leave neg feedback expect the same.
The feeback system on ebay is useless, because of this. Feedback hostage system.
To the guy that posted about NOT driving to the chevy dealer for a $3 part, must not live in a city that has multi chevy dealers. We have many here, and I pass many on the way to and from work, as I am sure others do.
I've sold a quite a few items on craigslist lately...the scammers are just as bad there. In the automobile section there are 15-20 new ads for cars/motorcycles everyday. The ads are not local to my area. The sellers do not respond to questions of their authenticity. They're late model cars/motorcycles, relatively low mileage and the images reflect nice clean cars with lengthy spec sheets. They're all priced at $2,900 and have different name sellers using only g-mail.
Scams need (sometimes gullible) people looking for items with prices to good to be true to be successful. Any venue like EBAY or craigslist is a breeding ground for scammers.
I've also received several Nigerian scam messages from craigslist. Has anyone tried to contact craigslist? It's harder than EBAY.

Here are both the vendors & websites I bought from. Here's the vendor selling Magnetic Oil Plug for LS1's. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=320115780822 THIS vendor is supposed to be a POWER SELLER with all good Feedback... I wonder, whats up with them...
I've sent both the vendors emails, and given them another 2 days to get back to me (being a nice guy), after that I'll escalate this to a Claim from a dispute.
Give them negative feedback, that get them to move and fix problem.
I recently had some bad experiences on Ebay, just wanna share with you guys, and maybe get some advice.
I bought a magnet oil plug for the oil pan from Ebay. It was being sold for about $3.49 + shipping. Total $6.98. I got a US Postal email, with a tracking number...but it said this does not gaurantee the seller has really shipped the item. It only shows the seller got a tracking number, and they may or may not actually ship the item. That's exactly what happened. I have a tracking number, but no shipping info. I was supposed to recived it in 2-5 days. Now, its been 18 days, no reply to my emails and no response on their end. And they are "Power Sellers".
Another transaction: Even worse. I bought a bag of 25 Microfiber towels, for $25. I have not received any info from them. I sent several emails, not info, no email, and no response what so ever from them . I have reported both of them to Paypal. A dispute is open, but that's all ....
I've always had good experiences in the past, but am scared to do anymore business on Ebay now... What are my options?
Always use a credit card that has a stronger policy with purchases. You can call and contest the charge, but the seller is not on paypal or does not have a company account that uses ccards ......"do not buy any thing from the seller" . It is a scam and ebay should close this site and never let this person, check by SS number ever on ebay, but everything is about money.
Not even worth the drive to the dealer. Sitting behind a computer and ordering items to your house... Driving across town for a $5 item?
Spend a lot of time in front of the computer, do ya?
It's called planning. I never make a special trip for an item that I don't need immediately. If I need something like this, I'll pick it up if it's on my way to something else I want to do.
Think!
pp & ebay are one in the same. they could give a sh** less about you or your money. I entered a class action suit against pp a few years back and recovered my $ and got a check for $70.00.

I sold two cars on the internet; and in both cases the buyers wired the full amounts into my bank account before: #1 They ever saw the car; and#2 ever met me in person!
If these were small amounts it could be understandable; but one was for $25,000 and the other was $9,800! Neither had a problem with doing that even though I kept insisting they should at LEAST send a representative to check it out! (one was in Colo. and the other in Indianapolis.)
I guess it's a good thing for their sakes that I am an honest guy....
I even refunded one guy $820 for a mechanical issue that I wasn't aware of; and I went by HIS word!

The MF seller has ONE selling history - sorry, but no one should be trusting this person
I have had a lot of transactions with ebay and have had no bad ones. I always check the feedback and pay with paypal. Good luck with getting resolution.
I too have always had good luck with eBay both buying and selling. BTW PayPal was not created by eBay. EBay started their own credit card payment system but then ended up buying PayPal. It's certainly a convenient way to buy and I've only used the dispute resolution once in over 600 transactions. As others have said, check out the feedback and buy accordingly.
Well, I guess I'm one of the few that had a good experience with PayPal helpin me getting the item I purchased on eBay from a potentially bad seller. When the item didn't arrive, I completed a PayPal Claim form. The very same day I got an email from the seller apologizing all over himself - received the item in 2 days. But the "double negative feedback" scam going on now on eBay really does put a damper on buying anything else there.
I have had good luck at Ebay but I always check for feedback and that the seller should accept Paypal.
When I pay with Paypal at least I have some sort of insurance, and my credit card identity gets a little bit more protected.
I do not like to use checks or alikes because you really do not have control over the transaction.
Shipping is very important, it should be from FEDEX or UPS with a tracking #.
With all that kind of precautions I have purchased a lot of good stuff that would be imposible to get anywhere else.
But you have to look out, fraud is everywhere and impunity is frecuent.
Selling and buying on ebay is like gambling. Who knows what you will get or who you will have to deal with. I just shake my head sometimes. Something else to remember, it is against Paypal's terms of usage, to do a charge back with a credit card, even if they rule in your favor. I did it once and got emails that they would close my account. I told them to go ahead. They never closed it.
My favorite Ebay story and I will shorten it up. I sold a pair of Martin-Logan Request speakers on Ebay(6' tall+ 250+ lbs). At the prearranged time, a little black Scion pulls into my driveway. Surely not. Yep it's her. She drove 600+ miles to pick them up as a surprise for her hubby. She drove back, and returned the following weekend with a van. Now that's true love.
