To answer part of your question, I installed raamat and ensolite throughout my Z and noticed a dramatic reduction in road noise. Of course you have to pull all of the carpet out to do this, but you would likely get a noticable improvement by just doing the trunk if you wanted to avoid pulling the seats out.
Search around for some more info on the tires, but I know the runflats are supposedly pretty noisy. I would think anything thats non runflat would be an improvement on that. Maybe someone can recommend a good quiet tire if you dont mind sacrificing a bit or performance. Good luck!
Doesnt sound like hes "bent out of shape", simply said its been discussed alot and suggested he do a search, good advise if you ask me

Probably for the same reason some people Wave and some Don't. To me, its kind of like a Baseball Game, you have the Players and you have the Fans. .....oh, almost forgot the Umps. We always need these guys to tell us what to do and all the rules.
