I have been considering hoops in my '02 M.Y. roadster and have talked to Steve (270) 842-4409 at MMRC up near B.G., Ky. He sells them for $500.00 or $600.00 installed. I was planning to have him install them while I was in B.G. the week before last but I was too busy to get with him.
For those of you who have hoops, do they obstruct your ability to recline your passenger seat like when on a trip and trying to snooze? I don't want to have to sit up straight all the time if I'm trying to nap.

Yep, I'm wondering the same thing. I'm needing some hoops myself. What is MMRC?

I don't know what MMRC means but when I talked to Steve on the phone he said they mostly build race cars. You can contact him at the phone number (270) 842-4409. The thing that impressed me about his hoops were that he said they install without removing the gas tanks.
I got his name and phone number somewhere on the forum on a thread about hoops.

Here is my 6 point rollcage that was designed for a Z06 Wolf made and it has swing out side bars and they can also be removed

Most of them are glued on with epoxy and are only for bling- they do nothing for you in a roll over.

I'd definitely do a bolt on for sure which by the looks of the attached bracket must help more than just looks in a roll over.
There's no way I want my vert to look like a dune buggy w/ a complete roll bar or cage.
It would be nice if the GM folks would incorporate those pop up bars like Merc/BMW does for their verts. Nice and concealed until you need them.

Hi Guys The "hoops" are strictly for looks. I believe I paid around $300 for them from West Coast Corvettes. They're epoxied into place(by me). The vendor stresses they are not functional and will not protect you in the event of a roll over. I think you'd be pretty well screwed rolling a convertible anyway! I thought they looked somewhat cool, so I added them.

just curious why your Wolfcraft 4-point rollbar does not meet NHRA requirements?

here you go.

Thanks to Orange County Corvettes for this one off. NHRA legal. By the way, the design didn't require the waterfall to be cut. ROME.
