With the exception of the V-Rod family of Harley's, they aren't made for racing. All low torque and not much up top. You'll clean the Harley's clock.

Don't get cocky though and think you can go take on that Suzuki busa up the road though.

If he can ride he will KILL YOU in the curves. If he is just some POSER you may have a miniscule chance, That us if he does not low side and you run over him.

Most Harleys have never seen triple digits.

All depends on how "modified" the Harley is. I was in disbelief how many people were in agreeance that the Ducati would take the 520rwhp Vette down. My friends n/a 515rwhp Vette takes bikes out all the time, to the shock of the biker as well! With some good, sticky tires, you're in a good position to come out of the corners faster than the bike and accelerate in the powerband. Picking the bike sounds like the obvious choice, but reality says differently in a lot of cases. Most sportbikes are in the low 3s for 0-60 time, with a few in the sub 3, but as someone mentioned earlier, the handling around sharp corners is something only a seasoned rider does perfectly (same goes for the Vette driver, though). I'd say the race had EVERYTHING to do with the level of each driver on their specific machine. I would also say that it is probably a really stupid idea, if taken out of the hypothetical realm........especially if the rider isn't a seasoned track rider. Seen it too many times

It depends on how tight the turns are and how much srtaight road there is.

I raced a car once on my R1 and it was a very winedy road and the guy obviously new the road and I didn't I could not get by him until the first bit of straight road then I was gone! It was a fairly quick car.

Cars are much better through the bends than sports bikes!

It's not so cut and dried racing through the turns with a fast car!

On top gear in the UK they put a Superbike against a Touring car with proffessional drivers and the touring car won around Thruxton race circuit.

Another program 5th gear put a Honda fireblade 1000cc against a Honda civic Type R around oulton park race circuit and the Bike took the **** going up on the back wheel and beat the car easy!

bike will win. you only chance is top speed. not many stock sport bike can go over 190mph, you with over 500rwhp should be able to do 190+ mph.

He would leave you like you were stopped. A little thing called "power to weight ratio".

Ive gotta know what kind of Ducati, there are several ya know. The whole power to weight ration isnt garaunteed. I have a Ducati monster, weighs about 400lbs (plus rider call it an even 600) but only has about 80HP. My 02Z (headers, full exhaust and tune, 385RWHP) feels a lot faster. If your friend has a monster, Id say you have a chance, drivers being equal. With the exception maybe of the S2RS, I think they are pushing the power up pretty high (120ish maybe)

Can't answer the question without knowing which Ducati and which Corvette.

The biker will be standing at the finish line, helmet in hand and tapping his foot wondering when you'e going to arrive. I don't give a sh** if you have a 1,000 HP at the rear wheels, you're gonna lose. Period. You only have to watch one bike race to be convinced. The majority answer given here renews my faith in CF members. I'm glad this question is hypothetical.

I agree with most of the other posts the bike wins this easily, even if the rider is just average

I really wasn't going to chime here but I can't hold back...I used to own a Ducati so I am aware of their capabilities. Mine was modded out with lightweight racing rims and race tires. I strictly rode this bike in the mountains. Depending on what has been done to both vehicles suspension and tires will make all the difference in the world next to the skills of the drivers. Having 800 hp does not mean you can destroy a bike in the mountains nor does it mean the bike will destroy you in 68 miles of twisties.

A Hayabusa is a very heavy bike that does not respond too well in the corners. In looking at some of these pics of the bikes posted here I can also see the "chicken marks" on some of these tires which means your not leaning your bikes to full leans......and the "average" rider is not that skilled on a bike in the twisties. Let's not forget that he said 68 miles of twisties and anyone that has ever riden a bike at a competition level for that amount of time knows it is not that easy to maintain it.

My car is done up with suspension mods and I am running competition tires and I can say that I have no trouble losing a bike through turns.

Of course in a straight line the bikes will pull on a vette (depending on the bike and the vettes mods) and stock to stock the bike should destroy it......depending on rider and driver.

I have a 450hp C5, a Ducati 996, and a Hayabusa, on a very windy road the Ducati will beat the vette. depends on how tight the turns are. Straight line nothing comes close to the Hayabusa.

Something like a DUC or a GSX-R will kill a Hayabusa on any road with twisties. Hayabusa = straight line rocket. Through turns, the Bus doesn't have a chance. I also agree that any skilled bike rider would beat the Vette easilly, however a noob would most likely end up in the trees trying to push the limits.

p.s. What's up with all of these extended swing arm bikes you guys are posting??? Any of those Hayabusas would get destroyed on a twisty road.
