Default TFS Head Results

450.4rwhp/424.0rwtq. Takes off hard on top end and seems to have a wide torque range. Torque from 3700rpm to 6000rpm is over 400ftlb.

1. TFS 215 61cc heads
2. 7.5" Pushrods
3. Harland Sharp Roller Rockers
4. Kooks 1-3/4 LT with Cats and 3"X
5. Bosch 36lb/hr Inj
6. Halltech Stinger Airbox
7. Comp Cam 224/228

There is notable valve train noise.

To do list:
- Touch up the top end fuel just a hair. Seems a little rich.
- Tony Mamo FAST intake He states this probably good for another 20rwhp. I hope so.
- Test Roll bar cam and post
- Track Test, unable to attend on 7/8/07 at Sac due to NO TIRES.

nice numbers! i apologize but i do not know the history of your car....were all mods done at once or just the heads? if just the heads, what were your gains? i want to do the TFS heads, so kind of curious as to what type of gain i can expect.

as for the fast, you should gain 20rwhp if ported.....i gained 22rwhp from a ported 90/90! Good luck and happy modding

All mods done at once. About 100rwhp gain. I think you'll end up close to 500 at the wheels with open exhaust and that cam.
These are the only mods to my car by the way, stock ti exhaust, everything else.

I look forward to the FAST!

BTW, I've raced quite a bit at Alamo Dragway, some years back. Have they update the track lately. Was there when the ShockWave went down the track in 97.

Nice numbers

That's the exact same heads/cam combo I'll be looking to do in the future (with a FAST 90/90).

Great results. Mine were almost identical with the same heads, and a similar cam. One thing you might want to plan for, though, is potential clutch problems. I've got a new Exedy on my bench now thanks to pushing my stock clutch over it's limits. After my H/C, I didn't have any problems, but since then, added a ported FAST90/LS2, and a Meziere EWP, and now I can't hit redline even once w/o the clutch sticking to the floor. Did the Ranger protocol about 30 times to no effect, so now it's clutch time....

Note, I have an 0Z 700 clutch. Forget to mention that.
Here is a roll bar cam. I'm not very good at this, so some extra noise.
Recommend lower volume. Also recommend save as first, then view:

In theory, the boiling point problem should be whats happening, but in reality, I've got a 0Z700 and it nevers happens-> see video. I called GM Service yesterday and requested a dead slave cylinder for
autopsy. I plan to section it to see how it plays a role in this problem, if at all.

What did the FAST do for you in power? No way I'm putting an electric water pump on. I like the fail safe belt. Mamo claims 20rwhp and so do a lot of others that use his intake. Any problems on install or anything strange? Any idle problems arise from the LS2 TB? I've gotta get this combo straight before any other mods. A little touch up tuning is still needed.

I can't say for sure about the power gain, because when it's on a dyno, the clutch sticks, and slips, so I know it's not accurate. SOTP, it feels stronger after, and pulls like a ****. However, after two tunes, still can't get the idle right. The latest advice I've gotten from several sources, including the man who ported the TB, say it may have been overported. It won't return to normal idle after the engine is fully warmed up. It hangs up anywhere from 1500-2200 rpms whenever the clutch is pushed in, and even will hold 70 on the freeway without touching the gas pedal. I'm going to pull the intake manifold to double check for vacuum leaks, because I just added the FAST gaskets, and relocated the MAP sensor. I don't think this is the problem because whenever I push in the clutch, it'll hang for 5-20 seconds, and then return to normal idle until I touch the pedal again. Seems to me it'd stay high idle permanently if a leak was the problem. I bought the manifold, and the EWP used, or probably wouldn't have bothered.
