Went out to go play golf and got a CEL when I started the Z from a cold start. Everything worked OK so I ignored it and drove to the course since I was running late for my tee time. No other DTC warnings. Lite stayed on all the way out and back. So when I got home I read the code (I believe it was P0300) and it indicated that I had a single or multiple misfires. Car ran great to and from the course. No misfire indication at all. So I let it set and 2 days later when I started it, no CEL. I installed Denso iridium plugs and Taylor 8MM Blue wires at 8,000 miles and Z now has 20,000 miles on it. First time this has happened in the 12,000 miles since plugs and wires installed. Anyone else had this happen to them and if so, what caused it?
Suggest clearing the code and go for another drive. Then recheck for codes.
If the recent code remains gone, no action needed. If it returns, first step is reseating both ends of all the plug wires. Then clear codes and go for another drive.
Good idea to create a log of the event codes you capture. May help future trouble shooting.
