Can you replace batteries in TPS's ?????
I have a 2000 and am curious, as I know the bateries will some day deplete.
As far as I know, You can't just replace the batteries but have to replace the sensor. I'm sure someone else from the forum can give you a more difinitive answer though,
They are potted batteries...
which mean that they are encased in a resin like epoxy.
One has to use a dremel tool to grind it out, solder the new battery and re-pot it....
The posts I read in 2005, had less than 100 % success

Yes, you can replace the batteries in the 1998-2000 sensors. Here is the link that has the instructions. Also, I have found that a small screw driver works fine for removing the potting material. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...lace=batteries

You can replace the batteries, but IMO it is easier to just buy a new TPS and be done with it. Do a search and you might come up with old posts on this subject.
For grins I replaced the batteries in my front two sensors when I had the wheels changed. I left the rears alone. So far they work perfectly. It's a simple swap if you take your time and don't booger up the sensor. Just make sure that the replacement batteries have the tabs welded to them to make contact with the circuit board. I got my batteries at batteries plus. They put the tabs on there for you.
