NEED new battery

Searched and searched the forums and can't seem to find any overwhelming choice.

Seems people like the Optima Red Top. Is this a good choice?

What have you all replaced the OEM battery with? Which model of Optima Red Top do I need to purchase?

I drive the car daily. Thanks for your responses!!!!!

Interstate Battery

Thanks for your replies! Has anyone used or is using an Interstate Battery? I checked the product number for the top terminal and it is an MT-86. What do you think about this?

I have an interstate in my '71 Vette and it has lasted a long time no problems, I don't see this being an issue for your C5

Interstate lasted a year in the Cadillac, I might get flamed but I swear by the Walmart battery (think it is an everstart) I have one in the truck six years, and one in the car five years, I just can not bring myself to pay big bucks for a battery.

Never, ever had a problem with Autozone's marquis, the Duralast. They come with 7 year warranties and I've had them in every vehicle I've owned since 16. Cheap too.

Probably made by Interstate or Exide. I believe there's really only about 2 major manufacturers, other than Optima and some boutique brands.

Pretty much any battery will be fine, there is no need for an Optima in this car. Some Optimas are a good choice if your run a lot of high powered accessories, like a huge stereo or a lot of lights.

I'd check for a sale at Sears, Pepboys, or Autozone.

I have been using an Interstate wiht no problems at all. I have a friend that has an Optima red top and he has not had any problems at all.

Battery #'s

Thanks for all of your responses! I think I found the part number for the Interstate top post. Is it MT-86? Also, I've seen some different part numbers for the Optima Red Top battery. Some list a 75/35. What does this mean??? AND, is this the correct # for the c5?
