I agree with Dennis and the others who lament on the missing members that used to be here. I'm coming up on my four year anniversary as a member and on 10K posts. I've seen a lot of people come and go. To some degree - that turnover of membership keeps this forum an active and vital place. New members bring new ideas as well as new problems and issues to discuss. I can't imagine what this place would be like if it never attracted anyone new. It would be old and stagnant and the reality would that there would be nothing to talk about. What I cannot abide by however is the often rude and juvenile behavior that is demonstrated by some of the members.
The next time you post some rude comment or post - think it over before you hit the submit button. This really was a fun place to hang out and it can be again. Not that I am such a role model, but think about it - without huffing and puffing up your chest....would you say to someone face to face what you just typed? Do you think your rude and obnoxious comment would go over well face to face? Do you think your behavior would get your a$$ kicked if you said that to someone in person? If you think it would - don't say it or find another way to express your point. As my friend MVD says - "Don't be a keyboard commando!" In other words don't be a big mouth and be brave hiding behind your keyboard and monitor.
I continue to hang around because I think I can still make a difference and help someone. But there are those days for me that being here is a real chore, just like Dennis said.

People come and go. And that is turnover that is required to keep the boards fresh and welcome in new folks as well as say farewell to others that move on.
Some people just HATE to see these repetitive posts about all the common stuff. CLB, What tires, what colors, yadda yadda.. Some say use the SEARCH.. that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't narrow something down.
In a way, I sort of like to see many of these new entrants to the best and most informative forum on the net post those 'stupid' ..What if, or How Do I.... (even how do I post a pic).. Well everyone has to learn.
A teacher of many years teaches the same course lesson to many school students and the ever repetitive questions get answered again and again without tiring or blasting for that lack of knowledge. It's learning. A new forum member has every right to ask, for to what many of us think as trite or redundant, a question and get a courteous and informed answer.
Again the folks that choose this arena to pick fights, don't stay long. What a great country. Yes? Our right to hear and be heard as well as speak and say with authority and courtesy. And...to watch the jerks go on thier merry way somewhere else.
All of us were 'newbies' at one time.
Got a Testerone overload, go ahead.. shoot your wad, then be gone. It's the way it works here and works well. Just like our beloved C5's we so admire.
to ALL of us that enjoy this fourm like no other.Last edited by diyguy; Jul 14, 2007 at 07:35 PM.

Thanks Steven
Cozmo Got your PM, you will know when I will be giving them away I will create a thread then have that thread open for a week or so. Anyone that posts in the thread is eligible for the draws. I was giving them away as a Xmas gifts, special occassion such as my 10000th post and just because. Usually there is about 300+ people that enter the draws.
Depending how many people that enter will determine if I give one or two away. I have given a few away to the mods for there effort an not to lock my thread or ban me
Trayc6 ask if I could make one for Dave Hill and she gave it to him for his birthday a few years back.
Here is the one that was made for Dave Hill, it is a 2 piece version where you could have the emblem itself hanging on the wall or sitting on the base.

The emblems take about 3 to 4 hours to make from start to finish. The hardest part making the corvette racing emblem is the cutting of the letters especially the R it seems to break very easy.
The cutouts of the corvette silhouettes take about 2 to 3 hour to make depending on the detail. There is a lot of unhooking and hooking up the scroll saw blade.

I have no problem helping others when I can.
) and have been punished fairly.....I have respect for this place and the people (moderators)who have to daily put up with a lot of crap from some real asshats...but the majority of people here are wonderful people........and about EvilTwin (Bill Matera)...if some of the members that gave him so much crap really knew what a great guy he is and how much he tried to help people here they wouldn't think he was such a bad guy at all.(even though he is no youngster and sometimes lost his patience a bit, he still has a young heart)... To the people who created the CF...you have changed thousands of lives forver..and I mean in a good way...God Bless the CorvetteForum
Oh, OH....my eyes are watering

And finally...Yes...I would go out of my way to help someone here if I could
