Default Differences in Z06 and Vert

What are the other differences in the Vert and the Z06? Suspension harsher on the Z? Tires wear faster? Gearing lower? Differences in the LS1 and LS6?

Read the sticky at the top of the General Forum, weights measurements, etc. More than you ever wanted to know.

Z06 has the LS6 motor, they are all manual trannies, they have Z06-specific suspension, base seats only, windshield is thinner, less insulation in the roof, about 100 lbs. lighter, larger wheels and tires, the first few years of Z06 didn't have all of the C5 options available,

Here's a comparison for the 2001 C5/Z06.

Not a lot of difference. Sounds like I should get Vert.

If night and day are not a lot of "difference" get the vert. One is a cruiser the other is a world class sports car.

There is a difference, just not as much as I thought. And not as much as the c6's.

Do you race? Is that the reason you chose the Z?

I'v owned 2 verts, but now I own an 02 Z06. Verts are fun because of the roof and that's it. I Love my Z for cruisin, racing, and everything else.

I have driven several. I have owned 4 hard top vette's. This is my first vert vette. No comparision in my mind, but that is just my opinion. I will have a vert from here on. I like the open air. I used to race for Vance & Hines racing and rode 8 second bikes in the 160's, so cars are slow to me. Now I ride a Harley that is real slow. I am getting old I guess!

Dont know why the Z06 and Vert are even being compared. I could see Vert vs Coupe, but a Vert and Z06 are on opposite sides of the spectrum IMO. Im not knocing the Vert, but you have to lke them. When we had our S2K I almost always had the top up anyways, so no verts for me.

I've not had my top up yet! Just different tastes. Both are great!

They are being compared because I'm about to buy one or the other. And I asked. Although they are diferent, they are in the same price range for me.I love speed and performance but I probably would not use it to all it's potential since I don't race. This is why I am probably leaning toward the Vert. I too have a Harley.

the fact that you read the differences between the two and came away with the opinion that they aren't that different really leads me to believe that the vert is the right choice for you.

I've had this 1976 450 SL for over 30 years. Just enjoy driving verts.

I owned a 1993 C4 vert. My wife was not a big fan of the vert. She did not like riding in with the top down. Since, most of time I drove it, she was with me, I found it useless to have a vert. We took a trip to SD last year, we were gone for 7 days. I bet the top was down for a total of 6 hours at best. I like the top down... but the wife won out on it. I now own a 2002 Z06, and she enjoys riding in it. Take a ride in both, see what you think, in the end, you can't go wrong by getting a corvette.

My wife loves the vert. She still likes the Harley better. She doesn't drive the vette much, but she loves to drive the Benz vert. I am not as **** over the Benz.

Leave the Z06s to the true sports car enthusiasts.
