After just over 3 years I have finally had the misfortune of getting a nail in one of my tires. My question is this. The DIC reads that the Left Rear is flat. That would lead me to believe that it is the drivers side rear. However, it is the passenger rear that is flat. My question is this, are the sensors programmed to know where they are supposed to be. I had my tires replaced last year and am wondering if they switched what side the rims are on. Thanks in advance
Either they put the tires on the wrong rims and put them back on the wrong side. That means the rims/sensors are now at the wrong corner
Or ................
they put the tires on the correct rim and put the wheels on the wrong side. That would be bad as the tires are directional. If thats the case, providing the tires are rotating in the correct direction just retrain the sensors.
There is mixed success reported on changing the batteries...
They are potted batteries meaning that they are encased in a thermoset resin like epoxy.
You need to remove the resin with a dremel tool, de-solder the old battery, solder in the new one and re-pot it.....
