Default Active Handling Warming Up????

Ok, this is a new one for me. The DIC display reads "Active Handling Warming Up". After a while it chimes and displays "Warm Up Complete". It's 90 degrees in the shade here! What is my car doing?

I just had the same thing happen twice last week. Mine's an '03 Z06 with 8000 miles. I just hit the reset, and it went away... A puzzle to me...

Mine will do that if it stays out in the cold night air. I see the alert on the DIC and then the chimes, just like yours. It hasn't done that in a long time however? Go figure?

Looks like I need to check my IAT sensor connection. Where is it located? Thanks for the link!

I get that warning about every 30th time I start her up.. It warms up and Active Handling re-engages in less than 20 seconds so I don't worry about it.

Look at the front of the air intake duct where it connects to the air cleaner housing. You should see the wire lead and connector there going to the Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature (MAF/IAT) Sensor.

However, if you're only getting the "Active Handling Warming Up" message on occasion and it's always followed by the "Warm UP Complete" message, it sounds as if things may be working as they should. Were your car's front wheels turned when you started out driving? Have you run the onboard diagnostics to check for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that might indicate there is a problem with the IAT or wiring?

Here's how to run the onboard diagnostics:

Corvette Computer Codes and other DTC Information
(Click on READ MORE toward the bottom of the next page that appears after selecting your car's model year to see all the DTCs specific to that year.)

Also, see the following thread:

Strange code

Mine does that almost every time I park it at work (angled parking spaces).

Same here with my 2004 CE.
10 k on clock.
About every 20 or so times I jump in to go.
I don't even give it a thought, as it's gone in 15 ~ 20 seconds.

It has nothing to do with actual temperature. If you start the car and immediately move in a turn or non-straight line this message will come on. The reason is, the active traction control needs to calibrate itself, in order for that to happen the car must be moving in a straight line.

I turns out my IAT connector had a loose wire at the connector. I replaced it and now everything is back to normal. I had just recently replaced the original oil pressure sensor with GM's newest part number. So far it is still working!! I did not want to cut the plenum, so I removed the intake to replace the sensor. I think the IAT connector was brittle and failed when I removed and reinstalled it. Everyone with the Active Handling Warming Up display showing more often might want to try checking their IAT connector. That is what was triggering mine. Hope this helps.

Default I love this forum!

Had the message last night and it cleared itself. Now I know why it happened. I love this forum! GM should help pay for keeping it up and running for all the help it gives Corvette owners.
