Hauling the C5
I had a tilt trailer and blocked the back of the trailer up from the ground with 4 x 4 blocks to lessen the angle and used five foot long 2 x 10 boards with short 2 x 4's stacked underneath at several intervals for support to lengthen the approach and lessen the angle, one one each side. If the uhaul doesn't tilt, you may need to get 8 foot 2 x 10's. It wouldn't hurt to angle the approach end with a circular saw and drill a hole through the trailer end of the board and drop a bolt into the hole and hopefully into a slot or hole in the trailer ramps so you won't shoot the board backwards with the torque of the car when you start up the board with the back tires once the front tires are on the trailer ramps and off the boards (don't ask me how I know). You could block the metal ramp ends up with two 2 x 4's to help lessen the angle also. You must support the 2 x 10 at several places as the 2 x 10 probably won't support the weight of the car without supports along the length. Take it slow and have someone guide you and when you unload, reverse the procedure and have someone guide you off and don't cut the wheels before the front tires are all the way off the boards (it is easy to do). Also you may need to add a 2 x 8 to the runners on the uhaul so you can get the door open over the fenders once the car is loaded (a friend who used to deal in corvettes gave me that hint). Good luck!

I trailered my 2000 coupe from Boise to Colorado Springs last winter. Used a standard UHaul trailer. The fit was good. The driver's side wheel fender on the trailer folds down (a little) so you can get in and out (snuggly). I didn't like trailering it outside in the elements, but the enclosed trailers were too expensive. When we got to the Springs, I washed and polished it, even though it was winter in the Rockies.
Here are a couple pics.

Yes, a standard U-Haul double axle trailer will work fine. Just stick a couple of 2x12x20" long pieces of lumber in front of the ramps so the front end of the car doesnt scrape the ramps. I went from Alabama to Colorado w/o incident. Good Luck!
