Why is the Valvoline "great stuff" other than it can be purchased at AutoZone or Advance for about $2.50 a bottle?. Castrol LMA (not so easy to find) is a low moisture activity DOT 4 fluid.
Based on the OP's original post of basic street use, the valvolines wet boil point far exceeds others in price range. I think the wet should be compared since he probably wont be bleeding or flushing every weekend or month after a track day. Just my opinion....
The ATE's pictured above are very good high temp fluids. They are BOTH the same fluid, just one is BLUE and the other AMBER. Nice to swap each time, makes it easy to see when the old fluid is completely out.
Motul 600 is also a great brake fluid...
I agree, ATE and Motul are excellent brake fluids.
Thanks to all that have given their opinions! I looked into the Motul and ATE and found it to be much higher cost than the Valvoline. Since this will be for street use, I have a hard time justifying the extra cost when those dollars can go somewhere else. I like the color choice that the ATE offers, if I were to be changing on a regular basis. All great info!!! I think I will be getting a Motive pressure bleeder. Which part number should I use? The Motive site is very vague with their descriptions. Thanks again. Another day I realize how fantastic this site is!!!
