My key fob failed on my 2000 vert. I thought it was the battery, but when I replaced it I could not reprogram it. I think I need a new one. Where is the best place to get a new one? Thanks.
So you just can't replace the battery and reprogram yourself? I thought I read somewhere that you hold the lock and unlock key down for a few seconds at the drivers door when the horn honks your good to go?
I know now that my fob has failed as it started by not opening the car doors then it would not lock. Thrunk release continued to work till I changed the battery at which point it would not program. I will try the vendors suggested. Thanks again!
i need to pick up one these key fobs as i never got one when i purchased the car... so i can just pick one up off a web site and then program it myself? how do you program these key fobs to match the car?

Purchase, download or borrow an owners manual and the ENTIRE FOB sync and RE-Learn procedure is in there. It a very do it yourself thing.
You can down load one for free! Go to Gene Culleys GM Parts Warehouse web site. Theres a link on there for free down loads.

Yep. Just follow the FOB Training Instruction.
Be sure to get the right ones for your model year 99-00 are different then 01-04
Check Fleabay, I got a brand new one for my daughter's 2004 Chevrolet Classic (malibu) for about $15.00 including shipping. My local dealership offered to program if free if they could do it in the lot with the Tech 2 tool, if it had to come into the shop it was $38.00. Sometimes the dealership isn't half bad.
