do most forum member buy their vettes with the idea of selling them later or keeping them forever?
i just bought my first corvette. i bought it with no intentions of ever selling it. i hope to be able to maintain it and keep it until i'm very old and grey (well, more grey).
i know some folks are flippers...they see good deals, fix 'em up, and sell 'em for profit.
then there are folks who buy 'em, mod 'em, and sell 'em for less than they have in them due to boredom with the car or pressing financial reasons.
just interested where most forum member are on this issue.
I guess I fall into the category of modding them and then selling them when I either become bored with them or make them so nice that I don't want to risk driving them on the street. I'm trying to break the cycle with the current Vette, and just keep it for a long time.
Get bored with cars very fast; motorcycles a little slower.
Have had 33 cars and 4 motorcycles in the last 14 years. Actually the car number may be higher then 33, lost track a year or two ago.
Thinking right now of getting rid of my current Vette and buying another, if I can deal with the color combo.
I am never too attached to a car. I did sell my Harley to buy the Vette and missing the Harley now. So could go that route; buy another harley and a cheaper Vette.
I purchase 2 - 3 year old cars with less than 15,000 miles, drive them to 40,000 miles, and then sell it. I think I minimize depreciation doing this (did very well with the last one) and every 3 - 4 years I am driving a newer car. I will probably drive my 2002 vert one more summer. This is my third summer with it. It now has 31,000 miles. Was planning to replace it with a 2006 or 2007 but the LS3 is tempting.
I bought my 98 last year this time with intentions on selling it at Carlisle
a week or so later.Decided about half way there that wouldn,t be a good idea.Just too much fun power and fuel economy.Oh well guess I will have to keep it.
I used to have permanent white vinyl script window signs in my modified frame off '55 and '57 Chevy show cars...THIS CAR IS NOT FOR SALE! It eliminated tire kickers who were just curious, not serious.
When someone offers you lots of money, everything changes. When I tire of a vehicle now and/or I want something else...Everything is for sale for the right price!
Make me an offer I can't refuse on my Z16 and I'll deliver it to you!
I have no immediate plans to sell my Z16, but that's all subject to change.
I have my eyes on a black/black '06 Z06 with 2,400 miles owned by the same guy I bought my Z16 from...owning two Corvettes would be nice...
ah still got tha las 7 cars i's bought, out in tha pasture. When ah gits thu wif em don't nobody won't whuts left. I's gunna keep this un till ah gits me a new un, then she'll go out nexta tha ole farm truck.
