Default Throwing a Warning

Last night the bells chimed and the message board flashed, "Service ABS System" & "Service Traction Control System". I went in and coulldn't find any "codes". I've reset the computer and with 75 miles of driving I'm still getting the warnings. Car starts up without the warning, but the first bump or pothole within a 1/4 mile and bingo! Something loose........?

I'm stumped! I guess it's off to the shop for answers unless someone here has advice.

Sounds like something can be loose with a ground. Contact Bill Curlee and ask him, he can lead you to possible locations of where it might be coming from if that is the case.

I had the same thing happen once. I hit a good sized pothole (here in the pothole capitol of the world) and got a light show on my dashboard. I pulled over, shut the car off and started it back up. All the lights were gone.

If I had to fancy a guess, I'd say it gave the wheel speed sensors a good shake.

Yeah, wheel speed sensors and also the steering wheel position sensor can generate an error after hitting a bump. Usually these will generate a code though.

Mahalo, guys! No codes and many miles later and it's still there. I start the car and it's ok; I dive off and within a 1/4 mile - bing-bing-bing!
I'll make an appointment with the shop tomorrow.

Hope you dont have to get the ABS computer replaced like I did. Cost me $1300 for parts and labor.
