Headlights don't open
Hello everyone,
I have a strange headlight problem. The lights will open and turn on fine if I manually turn them on with the control on the stalk. However, if they come on automatically via the light sensor then the lights come on but the doors don't raise. While it looks rather cool to see the front of the car lit up from the inside with the lights on and the doors down it isn't very practical. I know it's not a gear issue since the doors will open fine if I turn the stalk control. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

You have one either or both of two possiblilities. On my '99, I started having the same issues. I replaced the headlamp switch first which seemed to cure the problem for a while but the problem returned. I ended up replacing the headlamp controller itself and the problem was solved.
