Default vette scams

seems like vette hound is scam central - saw three cars on three adds and all say they're selling the same car. two adds even used the same pictures and back ground but one car wAs in FL and the other in TX am I missing something?

Your best bet is to check out the ads here and buy from old, established members (rather than someone who joined yesterday just to run an ad).

Next best is autotrader in your home town. Go look and drive it.

If it sounds fishy, it probably is. Always have to be cautious as a buyer, and many times even as a seller.

Did you see the ads on auto trader? A few years ago you would see a lot of that going on. Its cleaned up a lot.

I got my car from someone off vette hound. I found one listed that was local for me though and had a Corvette specialty shop take a look at it for me. After they gave the ok I bought it. I got a great price. I couldn't be happier.

I wouldn't buy any car sight unseen though. Well maybe if Jay Leno was selling one of his cars I could buy it unseen but otherwise, I gotta see it first. If you can at least go see the car who cares where it's listed. The person I bought the car from didn't want to sell it but knew he had to (to pay bills). So he didn't list it anywhere else, not even local papers or anything. I was lucky to come across the ad when I did.

Sometimes people who don't know what they are doing on the internet sell things on those site. They list an ad and don't see it right away and list it again and again. Finally they see it and then later on they have 5 ads listed for the same car. Basically go with instinct and the number one rule when buying anything, "If it's too good to be true,"... you know the rest.
