hey well it's definitely metal on metal....you could be on to something here...
Yes, it sounded like metal to metal on my Suburban, even though it was just a matter of the shoes being too snug.
Does the emergency brake feel any different? Chances are that it won't, but any difference might at least be an indication that they at least messed with it. Shoot, maybe they knocked something loose in the rotor hub where the e-brake shoes are.
One thing you can do to see if it's dragging shoes is to drive the car around and when things get nice and hot (some 20 minutes of stop and go driving should do), carefully feel the center hub area of your wheels. Are the back wheels hotter to the touch? If so, the problem is in the rear brakes, and almost decidely the e-brake area
.
well i did notice the center caps were extremely hot. but all of them were not just the rear. but it really really seems like it's coming from the front. and i don't know if it feels any different cause it always felt kind of loose. i am going to call the shop up here tom and see if he thinks he can check it out.
ok so, i let my friend drive yesterday and i was beside the car, and i thought i should just listen to make sure it was coming from the front. it for sure was coming from the rear. but honestly every time i drove from inside it sounds like it comes from nowhere but the front. but it is the back so it could definitely be the e brake.
haha, alright i feel retarded. it ended up just being the center cap moving around and making really annoying and loud noises. so i just need to find something to keep it in place. so for the record; everything is fixed.
