I remember how homesick I was my first month or so in Vietnam. I would have walked home if they told me I could leave. What truly amazes me is that you can e-mail and send pictures from a combat zone. I wish we had that capability 39 years ago.
Don't ever forget that you and those you're serving with are in our thoughts every single day and how very much we appreciate your sacrifice. Take lots of pictures and enjoy that special bond with those you're serving with. You won't experience anything like it again. Regardless of how difficult it seems now, it's a special time and you'll treasure the memories of these days for the rest of your life. Be safe and thank you for your service to this great nation.
