Anyhow, if you are the unlucky moron doing that to me, you might meet a fate you didnt bargain for.
The last time I flashed my lights at a slow driver in the left lane was on I-10 here in N. Florida. I come up behind this hillbilly in a pickup, follow him for about 2 miles...he won't get over. Flash my lights at him, he still refuses to move. Finally, he moves over to the right lane to exit, sticks his bare arm out the window, yells something at me and gives me the finger. Real courteous, these N. Florida hicks.

You should try living here, I love that when I'm doing 75-80 in a 65 in MD that I'm getting my backside rode harder than a drunk-o on a mechanical bull. Its always 4 door sedans too, altimas, lexus's, acura's, I'm sick of it! People drive too fast in Md/DC for my liking.

Their HID lights are blinding too, and then if I move over they just go slower, its like, ok what was the point of tailgating me???

Unless you are going a little bit faster then the right lane most of the time. Excellent point. Vette driver's seemingly innocuous behavior was an outright temptation to guy in truck. Too many crazies out there. Gotta worry about road rage too.

Default Christmas Vacation

A lot of these posts remind me of a scene from the movie CHRISTMAS VACATION. I still laugh like crazy when I watch the highway altercation between Chevy Chase's character, "Sparkey", and the "Billy Bob's" in the pickup truck! Hey KIDS look a deer......

It wont change as our highway design is just not the same as the european design which supports right lane traveling and left lane passing.
It also won't change until the general "I paid my taxes so I'll do whatever the he** I please because it's all about me anyway" attitude changes.

Here in Canada I went for a ride-along with a cop buddy of mine. On the 3-lane highway even HE passed someone in the right lane. They were hogging the middle lane. He just passed them on the right and kept on chatting to me.

I do it all the time as most people hog the middle lane thinking "f*ck 'em, let the war rage all around me. I'm safe here in the middle lane". They make me want to scream. I pass more people on the right than I do on the left. It's not an offence here in Canada. What does that tell ya?

Does this mean the car in the left lane dictates the speed of both lanes? This would mean an ignorant driver in the left lane that is driving below the speed limit could hold you below the speed limit also!
I guess you didn't read all the posts. The example was used because flashing your brights REQUIRES slower traffic to move to the right in most western European countries. If they don't, there will also be a fine if caught. As also mentioned before, european drivers have FAR better lane discipline and driving ability, they WILL move over! It costs nearly 3000 Euro (approx $4300) to get a license in most european countries. Many classes and many hours in drivers training. And you have to take the tests in the NATIVE LANGUAGE. US driver testing is a joke. Driving is a privilege not a right.

Our DMV should take a few lessons from this, I'm tired of asking for forms and then also having to ask for the English ones.
