...of idiots challenging Vettes.
Driving home from the Delaware beaches last night (one of my kids had to work today), cruising up Rt1 at about 60. There is a line of traffic being held up by Billy Bob Bubba in his high rise, mud splattered Dodge pick-up, doing about 55 or so, driving in the left lane. Right lane traffic is also going about that speed, so there is traffic backed up in both lanes. Other folks manage to move to the right, slowly pass on the right, and move back to the left lane to get past him. When I finally get right behind him, I tap my high beams a couple times and he finally moves over. As I go to pass him, he floors the truck as if to keep me from passing him! It wasn't hard to let him know who was boss there, and I moved over into the right lane a little further up the road. This guy moved back over to the left and decided to chase me up the highway. Speed limit is 65, and I'm doing probably 75. This idiot, who couldn't go anywhere near the limit a few miles back, all of a sudden thinks he's Speed Racer. I told my daughter that I've experienced this and other idiotic behavior frequently when in the Vette. I know just about everyone else here has, because I read these things all the time.
Hope everyone has a safe Holiday.
I experience this while driving all of my vehicles. They ought to be ticketed for this. These types of drivers could really be the cause of accidents. I feel your frustration.

Speed differential and not just speed usually the cause of accidents.
I had some punk in a 4 door Honda Civic driving next to me chirp his tires at four lights in a row yesterday at the 5th light I pulled up next to him, caught his eyes and gave him the biggest you are boring the he!! out of me YAWN I could muster. He got pissed, ran the red light and speed off into the sunset.
I really get pissed when some idiot gets into the fast lane and does the same speed as those in the right lane. I guess that it makes them feel powerful.
Hey guys we got 'em in Minnesota too. The miss's and I were cruisin' on a one lane 3-4 over the limit when it split into two lanes.
Some ricer who had been following us for several miles (there were several cars ahead of us by the way) pulls out and does the wantta race thing. I waved at him which must have pissed him off cuz he jabbed the throttle and was gone. Why do they do that???
Saw massive quantities of 'vettes out this weekend. All but one waved.
It was a great ride. Hope all had safe weekend...

Flashing high beams to pass is standard. Some newer motorcycles actually have a flash/pass button for just that purpose. People just don't like to be told they are going too slow.
In Europe you flash your brights to clear the lane of slower traffic (flash mind you, not hold and blind). Unfortunately in the states, the vast majority of people do not have lane discipline nor care about anyone but themselves.
In my opinion if you are driving then you should be aware of your surroundings, correct? And if so, then while driving in the fast lane going the same speed as the slower right lane, then you may get traffic starting to build up behind you, you should see them in your rear-view mirror, if you do and they are approaching, then speed up or pull over, it is only common sense to me. If I am in the fast lane and not keeping up with someone coming from behind then I will either speed up a little and/or pull over and let them by. Most people do not know that the left lane is usually a passing lane for slower right lane traffic, not really a traveling lane usually. Unless you are going a little bit faster then the right lane most of the time. Driving should be a fun thing, not something that will irritate or upset you, although it is hard sometimes to not let some of the drivers get to you, but just keep in mind... is it worth it, probably not. Just my .02
I never even flashed the high beams, just passed a guy on a two lane who started to speed up, got by him. Then he was all over the back of me so just as I got to an Indian Casino I was going to I turned real sharp and he spun out. I slow down and go up the entry road about 1/2 mile to park, going 30 mph he is back again, but thinking he will key my car later I go to valet. I pull up and he stops about 30 yards back and then slowly goes into reverse and leaves. Strange people out there

It happens everywhere, even in Europe. Trust me, I see it almost everyday
