i get the famouse p1416 code again i checked the check valve the one thats hard to get thinking it was stuck .well i disconected the hose and blew through it and it seems to be fine if i suck nothing happends no suction i cant suck air so i think that it is good .what else could cause this code? all it seems to be is a one way valve my air pump is working but it seems to only run when at cold start ups and it only runs for a few minuted is it suppose to run all the time?
I don't think you can be sure that your troubleshooting method is definitive. More than likely, you will need to replace that valve. They typically last only 5 years or so.

i for sure though blowing and sucking would be a good way to check . all i have to do know i figure out how to get it off cut a hole in the fire wall
Take off the hose and spray WD-40 in it, then use compressed air to blow it all the way in. This method usually works as a temporary repair if you don't drive your car much. If you drive it a lot, then you may not need to replace the valve after using the WD-40 at all. There have been repair posts on the forum about this for a long time.

i tryed that i used a piece of old hose and pluged it to the valve sprayed wd 40 in it with air it worked for 3 days fine then came back i would love to replace it but seems to be allot of work i would think its just a one way valve whats the big deal i tryed the blowing techniqe with my mouth it seemed not to be stuck air flows fine. if you suck nothing its closed thats the way it should be hmmmm
I had the 1416 code and found that I had a loose exhaust clamp on the x-pipe that was installed a couple years ago. I believe this allowed some outside air to affect the O2 sensor until the exhaust pipe warmed up enough to expand the pipe and seal the leak.
After tightening the clamp a few weeks ago I have not had this code.
