...still be willing to bet that 36% of them are more desirable & collectible than others in years to come...

Again, congrats on your purchase, enjoy the car & ignore the haters

You should really look at the total Z06 production run for a comparison (2001-2004).

Dude....I can feel your jealously and resentment!! Surely there is still some kind of market for a Torch Red Z and maybe after you unload this one you too can buy a Z16 and finally quit hiding in your garage and come out and play!!

speedway would win hands down for rarity. They all look great, even though EB is the fastest color.

Now you guys have gotten that out of your system, I'm going to take my thread back:

Waiting is the hardest part! My car is on its way now.

It's even more difficult because I won't be able to pick it up until several days after it gets to Houston because of another commitment I've got. So, I went ahead and ordered a full set of Michelin PS2s!

I've got to get a battery to the dealer taking delivery of my car so that when I can pick it up, it'll have new tires, new battery and the alignment done. That way I can just DRIVE IT!

Funny thing about colors, at first I wanted an Electron or Black car. I drove an electron and the color was not to my liking, so I changed my preference Yellow->Black->Red. The Z16 came up as a great deal, so I thought I comprimised on color. I saw a Z16 on the way home from work today and I was impressed with the darker Le Mans.

Right on. Driving will be the best part.

Yeah, I expect be able to pay quickly. If you aren't then someone might scoop it before you can get it.

Looking forward to pics.

I'm not sure why it's consider 'hating' when posting specs directly from GM. It was just a simple number to prove that the sticker package is indeed not rare at all since alot of people with 04 Z06s with the add-on like to use inappropriate words when describing the car they own. Please, feel free to point out any errors in my posting of production numbers.

OK...if we are going to look at this subject in an objective (big word!) manner we need to examine the total Z06 production numbers from 2001 - 2004. The general public cannot tell one year of Z06 model from the other...hell I cannot tell one year from the other and I own one!! So..without further ado..here is the total Z06 color production numbers from 2001 - 2004 and this includes Canadian export.

Black................................... 7847 cars....................27.18%
Torch Red............................6316 cars....................21.88%
M. Yellow.............................4183 cars....................14.50%
Q.Silver Met.........................4023 cars.....................13.94%
E.Blue Met...........................3140 cars.....................10.88
L.Mans Blue (CE)...................2025 cars.....................7.01%
Machine Silver Met.................967 cars.....................3.35%
S.Way White.........................364 cars.....................1.26%

That's more like it! Although the two different silver colors are very hard to distinguish, the CE edition was a very low production number.

To clear up your confusion, posting numbers is not hating. Starting posts with, "I hope you're not one of those owners who ..." is.

Check out his other posts...for someone with such a dislike for the Z16...he sure likes to post in every Z16 thread.

I know this post is not about "colors" but I decided to take a look at the color options and was somewhat surprised.

Color 2001 2002 2003 2004 Total Percent
White 352 352 1.2%
Black 1819 2205 2599 1816 8,439 29.4%
Red 1623 1746 1967 876 6,212 21.7%
Q-Silver 1345 1467 1086 3,898 13.6%
M-Yellow 634 1065 1708 629 4,036 14.1%
Elec Blue 1814 1272 3,086 10.8%
LM Blue 2025 2,025 7.1%
Machine Silver 967 967 3.4%
Total Z06 Production 28,663

My assumption is that minus badging and some performance upgrades a Z06 is Z06...therefore, percent is total percent of Z06's produced. My source is The Corvette Black Book, my numbers should be accurate but hey, we're not launching the shuttle here...

I knew Speedway White was the lowest produced at 1.2% but was surprised by Machine Silver being next at only 3.4%. I know, using my methodology SW, MS and LMB are only one year options so of course they are going to represent a smaller group in the population.

...let's not forget the very rare 1999 and 2000 FRC' ancestors to the Z06. Have you seen a Nassau Blue or Pewter FRC? Those are the rarest.

slashmatt, you will also be happy with the other options that only the Z16 has! The carbon fiber hoood, different seats, kick a$$ stripes, polished wheels, commemorative emblems(just price them at Mid America)...
You will love it when it arrives, good luck!

Default Just a few pics...

Okay, so I got sick of waiting for my car to post more ...

So, prepare yourselves ...

I have quite a few pictures of Vettes from ALMS races that I've attended. I went to Sebring for 4 straight years then my baby was born, so I missed last year. I've got my tickets/RV lined up for this year though. I also get press passes from Risi Competizione (the Ferrari team based locally) for the Grand Prix of Houston. There may even be a Grand Prix of Miami in there. I went to college in Boca Raton.

There are some pics of my Dad's MY Z06 with him and I peppered in there.

At the end are the pictures from the Ad for the car that'll be here tomorrow.
