I was told that when shopping for wheels and tires that the overall diameter if the rear tire had to be .7 to .9 inches larger than the front tire diameter. Otherwise there will be trouble with ABS and traction control systems. I've been banging my head researching tires and sizes. Finally ordered 265/35/18 for front and 295/30/19 for rear. Vredestein Sessantas. They have a .66 inch difference. Is this true? Any experiences?
Thanks a bunch. I saw that thing before but didn't realize that it gives you tire diameter when you punch in sizes. Man, that could have saved me days of reasearch and hours of eye strain. Is it true about the need for the front to rear difference? Anyways, have a set of 19's (sessantas)coming from Vredestein. $720!
I was previously running rear tires that were .1 inches bigger and had no issues. Some people run the rear tires and wheels all the way around without issue. You'll be just fine.
Good info. I never had it engage once with a .1 difference.....
You're trying hard enough
I've run a square setup on track. I have run Comp Mode if it's a new track. No problems. On track though I leave it off so it doesn't get in the way. With full AH/TC on and if you start pushing the car it will get upset. The computer calculations for AH are based on the assumption you are running the stock setup.
Thank you all for all of the info. I have decided to go with 18's up front and 19's in rear. That set-up has a .7" differential. It will look good and keep all systems in check.

Oh I was under the impression it would engage during normal driving. I've never tried driving aggressively with AH/TC on.... Who would do that?
Might engage easier in the rain or under hard acceleration. When I go to the track. I drive back and forth to hotel or gas station on the race rubber. With a square setup I had no problems commuting. Car worked as it should. The computer is sensitive to quick changes. So steady state driving (no incidents) shouldn't bother it much.
There are a lot of people who leave AH/TC on and drive what they call "spirited". The AH/TC is a safety net for the ones that realize they might screw up and want the car to tighten the reins when they get over board. Comp Mode is great for that. Let's you spin the tires and let's you pitch the car harder but still yanks it back when you get too aggressive. To each his/her own. Thank God you have the option to turn it completely off when you want to. This feature in the new Z06 where it never completely goes off is a bummer.
