Well, I have a quick question. Once in a while I see a quick "Service Engine Soon" popup on the dash, then quickly disappear.
I checked my codes, all I have are history codes, no current codes. Here is what I have:
P0522H - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
U1255H - Class 2 Communication Malfunction
U1064H - Class 2 Communication Malfunction
U1016H - Class 2 Communication Malfunction
U1096H - Class 2 Communication Malfunction
My oil pressure sensor is bad again, pegged out of 130psi. Sad, I just replaced the damn thing a month ago. Could the code be from communications issues with the bad oil pressure sensor? It seems logical from the error, but the last time my sensor went bad I don't recall ever getting a code or the error on the dash.
Should I be worried about all the Class 2 Communication Malfunctions?
My oil pressure is pegged as well, since about a week ago. Today as I hammered it a bit, I saw the oil pressure drop down to zero and a get a service engine soon message, needless to say I was freakin. Then a couple of seconds later, the pressure was pegged again and the message was gone. I think it is the sender unit causing the problems.
I'd say the intermittent flashing is because the OPS is only throwing an occasional signal. Its strange its pegged and not giving a C though. Autobots problem is more obvious because clearly his sensor is giving random voltages (max and min) so a H is more logical. Others may comment on that.
I'd clear down the codes and see if any come back. Loss of comms codes often get flagged up by power spikes or battery glitches.
I am going to warrenty mine at some point but the people that keep replacing them might want to look at using another sensor.
If you know the range of the sensor, the output required and the available power you could order another one from say www.omega.com and try that instead. The connector would likely not be the same but you could rig some sort of adapter and make it work. There probably are more reliable sensors out there that would work.
