You get the prize for the best answer. It's the truth though. You can't control what others do but only try to be a good ambassador and do the right thing and wave. I would venture to say that alot of C6 owners are new to the car and just haven't learned yet the customs of being a Corvette owner.

I wave 99.49% of the time...
Forgive me for I have sinned and missed a few waves....
But my pennance is exuberance on the waves I do....

I pass a C6Z today and the driver beat me to the wave. I waved back just like a would any other Vette driver (except for one certain person who I just don't like—but that's another story).

I don't think waving or not has anything to do with the year. Some folks don't understand the tradition. And yes some don't care.

I wave at every Corvette I see and most wave back.

Here's one for you.

Here's something I found about "Save the Wave"

Save the Wave!
The "Corvette Wave" is an integral part of the mystic and culture of the Corvette owner experience. Corvette owners who wave at fellow Corvette owners show a mark of recognition that you are among the elite group of intelligent people who are driving America's True Sports Car. And as a member of this elite group, you should be recognized for your poise and intelligence. So for those who don't know the five simple Corvette Wave rules, here they are:

1. There is no excuse for not waving at your fellow Corvette owner. Although most Corvette owners have the class and understanding to accept when their wave is not returned, not waving is a serious breach of proper Corvette etiquette.

2. Whoever sees the other Corvette first, starts the wave.

.......There isn't any rule about who waves first. This is simple; if you see another Corvette, wave!

3. Rules 1 and 2 apply to both sexes.

.....As far as who starts the wave, it doesn't make a difference if you are a man or women. Rules 1 and 2 apply.

4. Any type of wave is okay.

.....Whether you shoot a big wave up through your open Vette top, out the window, or a quick salute with your hand on the steering wheel, any wave that can be seen by the other Corvette driver is okay. However, this does not include any style of jester that can be interpreted as obscene or insulting. Remember, Corvette owners are a class act; while someone might have been rude or stupid to you, try not to return the favor. (This is a tough rule not to break with all the stupid drivers who manage to get a driver's license.)

5. A late wave is better than no wave.

.....If you suddenly realize that a Corvette driver is passing and waving at you, get a wave off as soon as possible. The other Corvette driver may see your wave in their rear view mirror and realize that you were just a little late in getting your wave going. Although missing the timing of your wave is a "goof," this can be acceptably covered by getting off a wave that the other Corvette driver has a chance to see.

So you can see the underlying concept here is simple, Wave at you fellow Corvette owners, whoever they are, whenever you see them. This will show you are a person who understands the full measure and etiquette that comes with your proud ownership of a Corvette.

What if a C6 (driver) waved at you? How would you feel?

It may seem like a stupid question, but there are only stupid people.....including me.
So you decided to make a new one? Now it's countless +1

There was another thread posted about traffic being down on Corvette Forum.....these wave threads are probably part of the reason. Wave or don't wave...who cares.

Yesterday in SW Ontario was a great Vette driving and wave day. The temperature (76f?) broke all records and Momma Zoz and I went for a 4-hour drive down to Lake Erie and back with a few side detours.

We got 100% wavebacks too from -

3 - C6.
1 - C3.
2 - C5.

I nearly missed the C3 as he was in a line of cars and he had a bra on (errr, the car; not him). He waved first but I responded before it was too late.

I had no problem with the waves from the C6's. I guess they're not all *****s!

these threads are pretty funny. I get tons of waves from all years. A few folks haven't waved...who gives a damn? Folks, don't feel bad if someone doesn't wave, the next person will.

Rule 4,029:
Don't resent the wave, or drivers who don't return the wave everytime.
