My 2000 FRC started having the known problem of trunk lid not popping up
high enough to reach under and lift up. Purchased a "Trunk Popper" that has been mentioned on this site. What a great simple idea and it works like a charm. One of my cheapest and functional mods. Well worth the money!
...I purchased a trunk popper...in my paypal comment section to the seller, I asked if he was the gent that took those home in his lunch bucket from the vette factory where they were not installed to later sell online to us C5 owners....no reply yet
Got a link for this thing? It's a bit annoying to have to pop the trunk on my vert and then open & close the door to get enough space to put my fingers under it to open it. Plus, that technique doesn't work with the top down.
I don't ride around IN the trunk so I really don't understand the "if only it didn't look so terrible"
Guess from now on I'll only open my trunk in the dark!

Here is the "original" trunk spring. Was never intended to be a show item but merely a money saver. Takes all of 10 seconds to install and remove. Much less time than someone who shows their cars spend with a Q-tip. Thanks to Barry for making this available.

I'm the C5 Trunk Popper guy - with thanks to dndrsn - I'd love to take credit for the design, but can't, it's his.
however - Maybe I'm also the guy who designed the C5 steering lock mechanism, the driver's seat mounting hardware, and the CAGS! .
