Zozzie - I'm assuming you purchased a Red Caliper Paint Kit, what paint did you use for the brackets? Buy another Silver Kit? What did you use for the white lettering?
The silver is just ordinary silver paint from the next shelf over from the DupliColor caliper kits. I sprayed the rotor hats flat black too but they don't show up.
The lettering is not painted. Most people do it this way - paint the whole danged caliper, letters and all, red (I used three coats). When it's dry (I waited overnight) take a razor blade scraper and with much passion and finesse, scrape the paint off the top of the letters.
Then I got some very fine silicon carbide paper (I think I used 200 and 600 grit) wrapped over a small block of wood and sand the letters to get all the paint off.
Some people, to stop the paint sticking, apply Chapstick to the letters. I tried this for the first side but the chapstick was getting between the letters.
Thanks Zozzie, I got them at a price i couldn't pass up.... Just remember, Painted nails, shoes, dresses,purses........ Goog Luck..
I was stretching my luck when I talked her into getting the car. I'm afraid caliper paint and hood/tailight seals will be the extent of my modding. Supercharger? No chance. Posh rotors? Pfffffttt. I'm on a tight leash.
Anyone have pics of power coated calipers..I assume they have more of a gloss / glassy type finish? If I took 'm all in (rears as well)...what is a ball park expected cost? Then from what I'm reading, we don't need to spend the time cleaning 'm up?
Then, while wheels and rotors are off...what can be done with the fender wells? ...gloss black, flat black, or rubberized type material...I'm thinking a gloss would ease the cleaning if ya really wanted to get a unit is show room condition?

Zozzi, that looks great! The color of your OEM mags is a nice difference. I've found quite a few very low dollar worthwhile mods in here. Kept me busy last year. Your car is very photogenic.
